Please join us for an entertaining and helpful clinic for the green horse, rider, rusty foxhunter, intermediate to advanced riders who need to get ready for the upcoming foxhunting season or are just interested in
having a fun day! This clinic is geared to help horse & rider prepare for the hunt field and each horse/rider is assisted at their level of ability. It will be held in the morning from 8-12.
JUNIOR RIDERS WELCOME —part of the clinic will be geared to the junior rider.
Your instructors will be SusanYeaman Deal and Oliver Brown, MFH
Susan taught riding at Sweet Briar College and St. Andrews College coached the intercollegiate teams. Now she runs a riding school and summer camp and takes students to horse shows during spring and summer. In the fall and winter Susan takes students foxhunting and schools horses and riders for the hunt field. She is on the board for the American National Riding Commission, and last year she was the North American Field Hunter Champion on her horse Penn Park.
Oliver began showing and foxhunting before age 5. He has been involved with 4-H horse showing as a
competitor and leader for over 50 years. He has taught innumerable children and adults to ride, show and
foxhunt and has taught many foxhunting clinics in the past. He was Huntsman for the Rappahannock Hunt for twenty years and has been a Master of Foxhounds of the Rappahannock Hunt since 1999. He currently is the nation’s leading handler of show horses/ponies on the line.

Directions from Culpeper: take 229 N. Turn right on Rt. 630/Jameson's Mill Road (this is after Catalpa and before Emerald Hill School). Go one mile and turn right on Rt. 711/Bleak Hill Road. Go approximately one mile and turn left on Grovespring Road. Grovespring Farm is 1/2 mile on the right. Look for signs to park in the field or on the road if it is too muddy.
From 211 at Clevenger’s Corner, take 229 S. approximately 10 miles. Turn left on 631/Muddy Run Road (this is just before Emerald Hill Elementary School). Turn right at the stop sign on Rt. 630. Turn left at the next stop sign on 711 and follow directions above.
From 29N, turn left onto Alanthus Rd/663 at the light at Brandy Station. Go 3 miles to a stop sign and turn left on Mt. Zion Church Road. Go less than a mile and turn right on Bleak Hill Road/Rt. 711. Grovespring Road is one mile on the right.
