Directions to RH Fixtures and Events

Below are directions to fixtures where Rappahannock Hunt meets. Keep in mind that parking is on private property. To protect landowner’s fields please put your vehicle into 4WD before pulling onto the grass. Always look for the Rappahannock Hunt signs. Fixtures are listed below in alphabetical order.

Battle Run

From Culpeper:

Take 729 approximately 13 miles and driveway is on the left.
There used to be a farm road sign called Lyle Lane but don't know if it is still there. (It is about 1.5 miles down Rt 729 toward Culpeper from Ben Venue/E Cow).
Park on the right side of the driveway.

Best Days Farm

From Culpeper:

Go north on 229, Rixeyville Rd/
Turn right on Muddy Run Ln, just past Emerald Hill Elementary School.
Left on Jamesons Mill Rd for 9 tenths mile to White Tail Lane.
Take your first right into the driveway.

From Rixeyville:

Going south past the store, take first left on Ryland Chapel Road.
Go about 2 miles to Jamesons Mill Rd. Right on Jamesons Mill Rd for 9 tenths of a mile to White Tail Ln.
Take your first right into the driveway.

Birmingham

From Culpeper:

Take Rt. 29S approximately 7 miles.
Turn right onto Rt. 740 (Birmingham Road).
Go to the end of the road thru the stone pillars, down the drive past the home and out into the field near the shed and beagle kennel.
Park in the field.

Brandy Rock Farm

Brandy Rock Farm (Warrenton Hunt Territory)
From Culpeper:

Take 29 north out of Culpeper.
Left at the light at brandy station on Alanthus rd.
Go approx 3.5 miles to a stop sign where you'll turn right onto Mt Zion Church Road.
Go Appox .7 miles and turn right onto Brandy Rock Farm road.
Parking is off this road in about .2 miles.

Castle Mountain Gate

From downtown Culpeper:

Take Rt. 229 toward Rixeyville.
After passing the high school on the right, turn left at light onto Rt. 729 (Eggbornsville Road).
Go 14 miles and Rt. 729 will turn off to the right. DO NOT turn—go straight ahead and road becomes Rt. 618 (Laurel Mills Road).
Go about 2 miles and the farm gate is on the left.

From Warrenton:

Take Rt. 211W toward Washington/Sperryville.
Go 16 miles to Ben Venue.
Take left at Ben Venue onto Rt. 729 (toward Culpeper).
Go 5 miles to stop sign. Turn right onto Rt. 618 (Laurel Mills Road).
Go about 2 miles and the farm gate is on the left.

Castleton Lakes

Map: Castleton View Road, on-quarter mile south of Castleton Ford Road, Castleton, VA

From the north side of Culpeper:

At the stoplight on Rt. 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Ira Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop)
Go a half mile and bear right on Rt. 729, Eggbornsville Road, which becomes Richmond Road.
Go 13 miles and then STAY STRAIGHT onto Laurel Mills Road, which becomes Castleton View Road.
Go 4.2 miles (passing the Castleton fire house on your right and Castleton Ford Road on your left) to the gate on your right. (You’ll also pass a Castleton Lakes farm sign on your right. Don’t turn in. The meet is farther on.)

From Warrenton and Sperryville:

From Rt. 211 (Lee Highway), turn south on Rt. 729, Richmond Road.
Go about 5 miles to the T stop and turn right on Laurel Mills Road.
Go 4.2 miles to the gate on your right. (You’ll pass a Castleton Lakes farm sign on your right, but don’t turn in. The meet is farther on.)

Chancellor’s Gate

From Sperryville:

Take Rt 231, Fort Valley Road south 6 miles to hunt signs at farm road on left.
If you get to Belle Meade B & B you have gone too far.
Oliver takes Slate Mills off 522 and turns right onto 231 for 1 mile and Chancellor’s Gate is on the right. This is a twisty road.

Clark Gate

From Culpeper:

Take Rt. 522N into Woodville. Turn right onto Rt. 621 (Rudasill Mill Road).
Go about ½ mile and the gate into the field is on the right. Go up the hill and park near the cemetery.

From Sperryville:

Take Rt. 522S into Woodville, turn onto Rt. 621 (Rudasill Mill Road) and follow the directions above.

Corner Pocket Farm

Turn onto US-522 N/Sperryville Pike - 6.4 miles.
Turn left onto Griffinsburg Rd/State Route 634 - 2.8 mile.

Turn right onto Reva Rd/State Route 644 - 1.1 miles.
Turn right onto Riverbend Lane.

Pat deBearn's

OR you can follow Rt 688 (Leeds Manor Road) off Route 211 heading north,
Go past Orlean,
Go past Crest Hill Road (#647),
Go past little White Baptist Church and cemetery on left,
Immediately after cemetery take left on Washright Rd,
Take immediate first right on McDonalds Lane and go to the end to a gravel road,
Road makes a Y - take left of Y,
Go past log housestraight to orange gate with green conservation diamond sign (#12138 under the sign),
Go through gate down driveway,
On the right there is a gate by the house into the field
Make a wide swing into the gate into the field on the right and park there

Duncan Run Farm

From downtown Culpeper, take Rt 229 north toward Rixeyville.
Turn left on Rt 633, Alum Springs Road.
Go 1 mile, make right on Walnut Lane, and come down the hill, driveway on the right.

From Warrenton, take Rt. 211 west for 8 miles.
Make left on Rt 229 south.
Go 8 ½ miles, make right on to Alum Springs Road,
Go 1 mile, make right on to Walnut Lane, come down the hill, driveway on the right.

Eldon Downs

Eldon Downs - 3348 Farmview Road, Luray, VA 22835:
From Sperryville head WEST on US-211 W/Lee Hwy toward Co Road 671/Thornton Gap Church Road.
Continue to follow US-211 W. Turn LEFT onto US-211 BUS W.
Turn LEFT onto US-340 BUS S/S Broad St/Virginia Ave.
Continue to follow US-340 BUS S. Turn LEFT onto Hawksbill Ave/State Route 631.
Turn LEFT onto Farmview Road.
Destination, Eldon Downs, will be on the LEFT. GPS coordinates 38.602291-78.473486

Elmwood

From Culpeper, take Rt. 522N.
Go about 8 miles—after crossing the Hazel River bridge, you will go up the next hill and the farm entrance is on the right.
Go down the driveway and park near the barn on the left.
From Sperryville, take Rt. 522S.
After passing the Boston store, the farm entrance is on the left.

Five Forks

From Culpeper:

Take Rt. 522N into Woodville.
Turn right onto Rt. 621 (Rudasill Mill Road).
Go about 2 miles and you will come to a four way intersection. There is a white church on the far right corner. Go straight through the intersection and past the church and you will see the entrance to ‘Five Forks’ on the Left.

From Warrenton:

Take 211 west toward Sperryville.
Just past the Rappahannock Cooperative turn LEFT and head south on Gravel Rd/ Rockmill Rd for 1.9 miles.
Turn right onto Hunters Road/Rudasill Mill Road and go 1.2 miles. ‘Five Forks is on the right.

Fox Cross Farm

From Culpeper:

Take Rt. 229 approximately 5-6 miles and turn right onto Jamesons Mill Road (Rt. 630).
Go 1 mile and turn right onto Bleak Hill Road (Rt. 711). Go 1 mile and turn left onto Grovespring Road. Go down the drive to the white house on left.

From Warrenton:

Take Rt. 211 to Clevenger’s Corner.
Take Rt 229 toward Culpeper.
After passing Rixeyville, travel on Rt. 229 about 2 miles and turn left onto Muddy Run Road (Rt. 631).
Go to stop sign and turn right onto Jamesons Mill Road (Rt 630).
Go about 4/10 mile and turn left onto Bleak Hill Road (Rt. 711).
Go 1.2 miles and turn left onto Grovespring Road. Go down the drive to the white house on the left.

Full Cry Farm

From Warrenton:

Take 17 North from Warrenton toward Winchester.
Go North (Right) on Old Tavern Rd. (Route 245).
Take a Right on Route 55.
Immediate Left (after Gas station) on to the Plains Road (Route 626).
Follow Plains Rd. (approximately 3- 5 miles).
Right on Landmark Rd. Follow Landmark Road (approximately 4 miles).
Go around a bend to the left and quickly there is a road-Landmark School Rd.
Take a left on Landmark School Rd. (stay on for 2 miles).
Take the first state road on the right- Logans Mill Rd.
Go to the first driveway on the left - Full Cry Farm Lane.

Googe Mountain Gate

Map: Googe Mountain Road, Amissville VA

From north side of Culpeper

Take Rt. 229 North (Rixeyville Road) to a left turn on Rt. 211 West.
Go 10.5 miles to a left turn on Googe Mountain Road (Rt. 679). Come up the drive, across the cattle guard and up the hill to parking on the right.

From Warrenton

Take 211 West to a left on Googe Mountain Road (Rt. 679). The turn is 10.5 miles west of the light at the 7-Eleven at Rts. 211 and 229.

From south side of Culpeper and Sperryville

Take Rt. 522 to Sperryville and turn right on Route 211 East.
Go 9.8 miles to a right on Googe Mountain Road (Rt. 679).

Greenwood Farm

Jeannie & Dick McNear’s Apple Shed
From Warrenton 211 west toward Sperryville.
Turn Right onto Gid Brown Hollow Road (622) just past the Blue Rock Inn.
Go 1.8 miles to Keyser Run Rd (just over the bridge).
Turn Left. Go past the riding arena on the Left.
Turn Right at 32 Keyser Run Rd.
Following the signs, go up the drive to the LEFT around the house, through the barn area and up to the apple shed
Park as directed.

Grovespring Farm

From Culpeper:

Take Rt. 229 approximately 5-6 miles and turn right onto Jamesons Mill Road (Rt. 630).
Go 1 mile and turn right onto Bleak Hill Road (Rt. 711).
Go 1 mile and turn left onto Grovespring Road. Go down the drive and look for signs.

From Warrenton:

Take Rt. 211 to Clevenger’s Corner.
Take Rt 229 toward Culpeper.
After passing Rixeyville, travel on Rt. 229 about 2 miles and turn left onto Muddy Run Road (Rt. 631).
Go to stop sign and turn right onto Jamesons Mill Road (Rt 630).
Go about 4/10 mile and turn left onto Bleak Hill Road (Rt. 711).
Go 1.2 miles and turn left onto Grovespring Road. Go down the drive and look for signs.

Hamden Hall

Please pull into the drive and proceed to the field in back of the house.

The Hill - Church Entrance

From Culpeper, take Rt. 522N for about 6 miles. Take a left turn on Griffinsburg Road and continue to church on left. Gate to fixture will be on the right. Watch for RH signs.

From Sperryville, take Rt. 522S. to Griffinsburg Road on the right. Follow Griffinsburg Road to church on left. Gate to fixture will be on the right. Watch for RH signs.

The Hill - Regular Entrance

Map: Durantes Curve, Boston, VA (Reva VA on some maps)

From Culpeper:

At the stoplight on Rt. 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Ira Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop).
Follow Rt. 694 for 2.3 miles to the T stop and turn right on Rt. 522, Sperryville Pike.
Go 5.5 miles to a left on Durantes Curve.

From Sperryville:

From Rt. 211 West, turn left on Rt. 522 (Sperryville Pike) and go 12 miles to a right turn on Durantes Curve. (Look for the turn after you cross the Hazel River.)

Holly Hill

From Culpeper:

Take Rt. 29 south approx. 7 miles.
Turn right onto Rt. 633 (beside Reva Market)
Go 1/2 mile and turn left onto Rt. 644 (Reva Road).
Go about 1 mile to Duncan Trail which is on the Left.
Do not turn onto Duncan. Instead turn RIGHT into the left side of a double driveway directly across from Duncan Trail.
Follow this road through the gates to the house at the back.
Park in the field to the right of the house.

Manwaring Gate

Woodville, VA

Map: Five Forks Road, a half mile east of Rudasill Mill Road, Woodville

From Culpeper:

At the stoplight on Rt. 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Ira Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop).
Follow Rt. 694 for 2.3 miles to the T stop and turn right on Rt. 522 (Sperryville Pike).
Go 12.5 miles into Woodville (speed limit drops to 35 mph!) and turn right on Rudasill Mill Road.
Go 3 miles (you’ll see a small white church ahead of you) to a right turn on Five Forks Road.
Go .5 miles to the gate on your right.

From Warrenton:

Take Rt. 211 West to a left turn on Rock Mills Road.
Go 1.9 miles to a right turn on Hunters Road/Rudasill Mill Road.
Go 1.3 miles to a left turn on Five Forks Road.
Go .5 miles to the gate on your right.

Maple Lawn - Cathy Marco

From Culpeper, head south on Route 15 like you are going to Orange approximately 5-6 miles. You will pass Charlotte's store on the right, then Piedmont Tech school on left, then Roland road on left, keep going. As you go up a hill, you will see Louise Lane on your right. Put on your left blinker. Maple Lawn Lane is on the left at the crest of the hill. (It is a blind spot, so be careful turning in.) If you go past Midway Country store, you have gone too far.
Take Maple Lawn up over the hill and then a pond will be on left, take the gravel drive on the right(8544). Follow up drive and we will be parking in the pasture. You'll see a red brick house in the middle of a harvested cornfield. Lost, call Cathy's cell: 540-229-3031.

Meadow Grove

From Culpeper:

At the stoplight on Rt. 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Ira Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop).
Go a half mile and bear right on Rt. 729 (Eggbornsville Road, which eventually becomes Richmond Road).
Go 13 miles to a SHARP RIGHT on Rt. 729, Richmond Road continued. (If you go straight, you’ll see the Laurel Mills Store on your right and you’ve missed the turn.)
Go about 1.8 miles to the Meadow Grove sign on your left.

From Warrenton or Sperryville:

From Rt. 211 (Lee Highway), turn south on Rt. 729, Richmond Road.
Go 3.3 miles to the Meadow Grove Farm sign on your right.

Mont Elery

From Culpeper:

At the stoplight on Rt. 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Ira Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop).
Bear right on Rt. 729 continued (Eggbornsville Road, which eventually becomes Richmond Road).
Go 13.4 miles and STAY STRAIGHT onto Laurel Mills Road.
Go 1 mile to Mt. Elery on your left.

From Warrenton and Sperryville:

From Rt. 211, turn south on Rt. 729, Richmond Road.
Go about 5 miles to the T stop and turn right on Laurel Mills Road.
Go 1 mile to Mt. Elery on your left. Follow the hunt signs to parking.

O’Bannon Gate

From Culpeper, take Rt. 522N into Woodville.
Turn right onto Rt. 621 (Rudasill Mill Road).
Go about 1½ mile and the gate into the field is on the right.

From Sperryville, take Rt. 522S into Woodville,
turn onto Rt. 621 (Rudasill Mill Road) and follow the directions above.

Pine Rock

Map: Glebe Way, Reva VA

From Warrenton and southern Culpeper:

Take Rt. 29 South (5.2 miles past the last Culpeper exit) to the Reva Market & Shell station on your right.
Turn right on Rt. 633, Reva Road.
Go .4 miles to a left turn on Rt. 644 (Reva Road continued)
Go 1.8 miles to straight/slight right on Glebe Way. (Careful here! Reva Road doglegs left, and there’s a driveway with a gate on your right. You don’t want either.)
Go .6 miles to the Pine Rock sign and stone pillars on your left.

From the north side of Culpeper:

At the light on Route 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop).
Go 2.3 miles to the T-stop, and turn right on Rt. 522 (Sperryville Pike).
Go 2.5 miles to a left turn on Rt. 633 (Norman Road).
Go 3.3 miles, then STAY STRAIGHT onto Whippoorwill Lane.
Go .9 miles to a left turn on Glebe Way.
Pine Rock is the first driveway on your right, with a sign and stone pillars.

Poplar Shade (formerly Lyles Gate)

From downtown Culpeper:

Take Rt. 229 toward Rixeyville.
After passing the high school on the right, turn left at light onto Rt. 729, Eggbornsville Road.
Go 14 miles and Rt. 729 will turn right and become Richmond Road.
Stay on Richmond Road for 3-1/2 miles and the entrance is on the left, LYLE LANE. Park along the drive.

From Warrenton or Sperryville:

Take Rt. 211 to Ben Venue.
Turn onto Rt. 729 toward Culpeper.
Go 1-1/2 miles to the entrance on right, LYLE LANE. Park along the drive.

Red Hill

Map: Red Hill Lane, Amissville, VA

From Culpeper:

At the stoplight on Rt. 229 South (Rixeyville Road) at Ira Hoffman Lane, turn right on Rt. 694 (Western Outer Loop).
Go a half mile and bear right on Rt. 729 (Eggbornsville Road, which eventually becomes Richmond Road).
Go 13 miles to a SHARP RIGHT on Rt. 729 (Richmond Road continued).
Go 2.3 miles to a right on Red Hill Lane and come up the drive until you see the hunt sign.

From Warrenton or Sperryville:

Take Rt. 211 and turn south on Rt. 729, Richmond Road.
Go 2.8 miles to a left on Red Hill Lane and come up the drive until you see the hunt sign.

Shanagarry Farm

From downtown Culpeper:

Take Rt. 229 toward Rixeyville.
After passing the high school on the right, turn left at light onto Rt. 729 (Eggbornsville Road).
Go about 12 miles and the farm entrance is on the left.
Go down the drive and park in the field on the left beside the driveway.

From Warrenton:

Take Rt. 211W toward Washington/Sperryville.
Go 16 miles to Ben Venue.
Take left at Ben Venue onto Rt. 729 (toward Culpeper). Go 5 miles to stop sign.
Turn left onto Rt. 729.
Go about a 1 mile and farm entrance is on the right. Follow the RH Signs.

Thornton River Farm

From downtown Culpeper:

Take Rt. 229 toward Rixeyville.
After passing the high school on the right, turn left at light onto Rt. 729 (Eggbornsville Road).
Go about 12 miles and the farm entrance is on the left.
Go down the drive and park in the field on the left beside the driveway.

From Warrenton:

Take Rt. 211W toward Washington/Sperryville.
Go 16 miles to Ben Venue.
Take left at Ben Venue onto Rt. 729 (toward Culpeper). Go 5 miles to stop sign.
Turn left onto Rt. 729. Go about a 1 mile and farm entrance is on the right.
